In a devastating turn of the Israel-Hamas war, a hospital in Gaza City has been subjected to a bombing that has resulted in the loss of at least 500 lives, as reported by the Palestinian Health Ministry.
The IDF said they had proof that the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) group caused the explosion, but they stated that they were not involved. They claim the blast happened because a Palestinian rocket misfired.
After the explosion, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas declared three days of mourning and canceled his planned meeting with US President Joe Biden.
Hamas called the hospital bombing a “genocide” and blamed Israel for it. They said it was a terrible attack by the Israeli government, which harmed many innocent people, including families, patients, children, and women.
Hamas also criticized the support that the United States and Western countries provide to what they see as an unjust occupation.
