On Friday, a tragic incident occurred in Balochistan’s Mastung district, resulting in at least 53 fatalities and around 70 injuries, including a police officer. Authorities suspect it to be a suicide blast near a mosque.

The Mastung Assistant Commissioner, Attahul Munim, and City Station House Officer, Mohammad Javed Lehri, confirmed the casualties. The explosion happened as people gathered for an Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) procession near Madina Masjid at Alfalah Road.

Tragically, the blast occurred next to DSP Gishkori’s car. Unverified images and videos depict a scene of devastation with bloodied casualties. Rescue efforts are underway, with critically injured individuals being transported to Quetta, and emergency measures have been initiated in local hospitals. Balochistan’s interim Information Minister, Jan Achakzai, attributed the attack to those seeking to disrupt religious tolerance and peace in the region.

Caretaker Chief Minister Ali Mardan Domki has ordered the apprehension of those responsible, as interim Interior Minister Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti strongly condemns the incident.
