In some situations, if you turn 45 after submitting your EOI but before the authorities call you to apply, you will not be invited to apply.
Furthermore, to be eligible for this visa type, one must be invited to apply for it and pass the points test.

How To Apply
To apply for this visa, go to SkillSelect, the Australian Government’s online application system for professionals interested in applying for a skilled migration visa to live and work in Australia.
The Australian Government and state and territory governments invite a number of skilled workers to apply for visas through SkillSelect.
The first step towards relocating to Australia is to submit an Expression of Interest. The candidate must first complete and submit a free Expression of Interest (EOI), and they may be asked to apply for this visa based on their EOI. The expression of interest can be submitted here.
When an applicant receives an invitation to apply for a skilled visa, they must do it through ImmiAccount by uploading all required papers. It should be noted that when applying, keep in mind the English language competency criteria.
An important aspect of this visa is that an invitation to apply for the visa is sent to those who fall on the eligible occupations list and submit an EOI that meets or exceeds the points criteria; however, even if you meet the minimum points criteria, there is no guarantee that you will receive an invitation to apply for a visa.
Overall, the procedure is as follows: If your skill is on the occupation list and you have 65 points, you submit an Expression of Interest in Skillselect. You will then have to wait for an invitation to apply. After that, assemble your paperwork and apply for the visa within 60 days of receiving the invitation.
