Azerbaijan has officially become the fourth country to induct the JF-17 multirole fighter aircraft, supplied by Pakistan. The JF-17C (Block-III), a single-engine combat jet known for its versatility in both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions, was formally presented to President Ilham Aliyev on September 25, 2024, at Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
The JF-17C is lightweight, highly maneuverable, and capable of operating in all weather conditions, day or night. Developed through a collaboration between Pakistan Aeronautical Complex and China’s Chengdu Aircraft Industry Corporation, the aircraft offers superior performance with advanced firepower at medium and low altitudes.
The jets are now fully integrated into Azerbaijan’s Air Force. During the ceremony, Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov reported to President Aliyev, while Air Vice Marshal Hakim Raza, Chairman of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, provided detailed briefings on the aircraft’s tactical capabilities and operational features.
