Pakistan’s cricket captain, Babar Azam, is reportedly contemplating stepping down from the captaincy, particularly in white-ball cricket, according to sources.
The 29-year-old has been seeking advice on his future, consulting with former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja and close associates. Babar Azam values the advice received, especially from his father, as he expresses dissatisfaction with the PCB and former cricketers, receiving counsel to step down from leadership in all three formats.
The suggestion is based on the challenges prominent captains have faced in Test series in Australia. While initially planning to make the decision in India, Babar Azam has postponed it and will finalize his choice upon returning to Pakistan.
