Babar Azam, the captain of the Pakistan cricket team, set a further record in One Day International (ODI) cricket.
Babar got the distinction of having the highest runs (5142) under his belt after the first 100 ODI innings during the second ODI match against Afghanistan in Hambantota on Thursday.
This is an incredible accomplishment, since the previous record holder, Hashim Amla, amassed 4946 runs in his first 100 ODI innings.
Babar is now the leading batsman in terms of runs scored after 100 ODI innings, followed by Hashim Amla (4946), Viv Richards (4607), Shai Hope (4436), and Joe Root (4428).
