Despite achieving almost everything possible in 50-over cricket over the past 24 months, including two ICC Men’s ODI Player of the Year awards and maintaining his No.1 spot on the MRF Tyres ODI Player Rankings since July 2021, inspirational skipper Babar Azam is eagerly pursuing one more accolade – leading Pakistan to victory in the ICC Cricket World Cup in India later this year.
Babar’s exceptional form has helped Pakistan remain one of the top teams in one-day cricket, as he has amassed a substantial number of runs and the team has steadily closed in on the No.1 team ranking.
Although Babar has received personal accolades, he values team success more. He aims to follow in the footsteps of Imran Khan and lead Pakistan to their second World Cup victory.
Babar expressed his ambition to be part of the World Cup team and win the tournament, stating that his current goal is to perform well and contribute to the team’s success.
