Transit travelers arriving at Bahrain International Airport (BIA) can explore the city for free.

Passengers with layovers of five to 24 hours can take advantage of a free city tour, according to an announcement made by Gulf Air, Bahrain Airport Company, and Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority.

The offer is valid until July 5, 2023, and tourists can enjoy Bahrain’s landmarks and historical attractions during the journey.

The service is being provided jointly by Gulf Air, BAC, Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority, and Kanoo Travel, and is guaranteed to benefit individuals who have to spend hours at the airport.

Dr Nasser Qaedi, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, assured that a dedicated team within the authority is fully prepared to provide the service and that passengers transiting through the airport will have access to a comprehensive tourism programme tailored to the length of their layover.

To enhance tourists’ experiences, the visit will include a wide range of offerings, such as entertainment alternatives, heritage sites, and significant tourist destinations.

It has also been declared that during these trips, a dependable and secure tourist transport service would be offered to encourage visitors to return to Bahrain.

“The Kingdom of Bahrain is not only a more appealing destination for business and leisure travelers, but it is also a strategic gateway between East and West.” Thousands of people pass through BIA every day, with many missing out on seeing the rest of the nation. “We hope that the introduction of this new service will improve the passenger experience and provide visitors with a better understanding of all the incredible attractions Bahrain has to offer,” said Gulf Air Group Holding Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Goh.

Bahrain is a small Middle Eastern island country that is a fascinating location with a rich history and vibrant culture. Bahrain, known for its sophisticated skyline and warm hospitality, offers a distinct blend of heritage and progress.

Bahrain is well-known for its pearl diving heritage, traditional souks (markets), and historical attractions such as the Bahrain Fort. Visitors can visit the bustling capital city of Manama, relax on beautiful beaches, or indulge in exquisite local cuisines such as matchbooks (spiced rice) and grilled seafood. Bahrain’s friendly atmosphere and numerous attractions make it an appealing destination.
