Several prominent leaders from the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) are reportedly considering joining the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), according to inside sources. This potential political shift has gained traction with a meeting between certain BAP leaders and Ayaz Sadiq, former speaker and a prominent member of the PML-N, in Quetta.
Sources suggest that Balochistan leaders have expressed their desire for the top leadership of the PML-N, such as Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, or Maryam Nawaz, to visit Quetta as a condition for their formal joining of the party. This demand signifies the importance of a high-level commitment from the PML-N to their cause.
To facilitate this transition, the President of PML-N Balochistan is hosting a dinner for the leaders who are inclined to join the PML-N. This gathering aims to foster closer ties and discuss the terms of the potential alliance. Moreover, Ayaz Sadiq is reportedly working on arranging a telephone conversation between the Baloch leaders and Nawaz Sharif, the supreme leader of the PML-N. Such a conversation could further solidify the understanding between the parties and assurethe Baloch leaders regarding their demands and expectations.
Back in August, ARY News had initially reported that numerous BAP leaders were considering aligning themselves with the PML-N. The delegation of BAP leaders that met with Shehbaz Sharif included provincial ministers, senators, and Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs). This development underscores the evolving political landscape in Balochistan and the potential reconfiguration of alliances within the region.
