Adnan Afridi, Additional Station House Officer (SHO), was killed and several others were injured in a strong bomb attack at a mosque in Khyber district’s Ali Masjid region.
A massive bomb blast occurred in a mosque in the Ali Masjid neighborhood of Jamrud – Khyber district, killing a police officer – extra SHO Adnan Afridi, and injuring others.
According to the initial investigation, it was a suicide bombing. Rescue teams transported the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Security forces blocked off the entire area and began searching for the perpetrator.
According to reports, the suicide bomber attempted to enter an under-construction mosque but detonated himself when police began snap-checking. A suspect was also apprehended near the blast scene.
According to police, two people attempted to enter the mosque, one of them blew himself up, while the other suspect left the scene. The search for the second suspect was launched by security forces.
