PTI has won most of the seats in local government in the country’s 41 cantonment boards election. The counting of votes is still underway.
The voting process started at 8 am and continued till 5 pm without any break.
As per unofficial results of cantonment boards election, PTI leading with 63 seats, followed by PMLN with 59 seats so far.
Among the Opposition parties, Independent candidates has won 52 seats. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has won 17 seats. Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM) has won 10 seats. Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) 7, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) 3, Awami National Party (ANP) 2 and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has won one seat.
