The Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, has officially inaugurated the Captain Colonel Sher Khan Shaheed Flyover, marking another significant addition to the provincial capital’s infrastructure.
The flyover, stretching across 742 meters and featuring three lanes, is now open to traffic, showcasing the efficient completion of yet another project ahead of schedule.
Remarkably, the construction of the flyover was accomplished within a swift 90-day timeframe, a feat that not only saved valuable time but also optimized resource utilization. This strategic approach ensures a seamless integration of the flyover into the city’s transportation network.
Designed to function as a signal-free corridor, the flyover facilitates smooth traffic flow from Barkat Market Garden Town to Defence Morr Walton. This connectivity improvement translates to a reduced travel time of just 15 minutes between DHA Phase-VI and Liberty Market.
Addressing the public, the Caretaker CM highlighted the substantial benefits of the new infrastructure, estimating that approximately 200,000 vehicles will benefit from the flyover on a daily basis.
Furthermore, he disclosed that the ongoing Walton Road project is on track for completion by January 31, adding another milestone to the city’s development initiatives.
In a commitment to addressing urban challenges, Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the significance of the Rs. 9 billion drainage system project.
This comprehensive initiative aims to prevent water accumulation on roads, providing a solution to a persistent issue faced by residents. With this multi-faceted approach to infrastructure development, the caretaker government strives to enhance the overall quality of life for the people of Punjab.
