Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar launched the countrywide polio eradication campaign today, vaccinating children in Islamabad with anti-polio drops.
During the five-day nationwide polio eradication campaign, the Prime Minister stated that forty-four million children aged one to five years will be given anti-polio drops.
According to the Prime Minister, 350,000 polio workers are involved in this effort. He described these polio workers as “true heroes” and “front-line workers” in the fight against this debilitating epidemic. He stated that the entire government will stand shoulder to shoulder with these polio workers.
Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar stated that we must work with foreign partners to preserve future generations from this sickness. He stated that eradicating polio is our national, moral, and religious obligation.
The Prime Minister also urged religious leaders to fully support the polio eradication effort. He stated that Pakistan will undoubtedly win the fight against the polio virus.
