The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has allocated PKR 21 million to enhance and preserve Islamabad’s green belts – large undeveloped areas of wild or agricultural land that surround a city.
A spokesman told APP on Monday that the CDA management will soon float tenders in this regard in newspapers.
The federal agency has already taken steps to maintain the natural areas around the city. In March this year, the civil authority inaugurated a new green belt along 9th Avenue which was with colorful flower arrangements and landscaping.
The federal apex agency, will be targeting the green belts situated in sectors I-8/2, H-8/4. According to the spokesperson, the areas will be enhanced with natural stone walls, allied works, landscaping and other structures to protect against encroachments.
