The federal government has approved 28 development projects costing Rs309.14 billion as part of the next fiscal year’s Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
According to the Planning Ministry, the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) approved 28 development projects worth Rs309.14 billion during its meeting on Saturday, which was presided over by Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal.
The Planning Ministry’s secretary, Planning Commission members, and representatives from various ministries and divisions attended the meeting.
The forum approved a flood response programme involving the reconstruction of educational facilities in Sindh with assistance from JICA totaling Rs1,566,628 million, the establishment of a one-stop service center for special economic zones totaling Rs698 million, the modernization of academic and research facilities for students at MUET, Jamshoro totaling Rs2,000.368 million, and the immediate need for artistic innovation and technology integration at Aror University of Art, Architecture, Design, and Heritage totaling Rs2,000.368 million
The forum also approved the establishment of a polytechnic institute for boys in Skardu (Baltistan Region) for Rs978.929 million, the infrastructure development of Islamabad Technopolis for Rs7,338 million, the construction of an audit house in Lahore for Rs1,997.675 million, women on wheels for Rs4,476.170 million, the construction of an interchange on Motorway (M-3) on Bucheki-Nankana Road in the name of Rai Mansa
The forum approved the dualization of a road from Christian to Chak no 46/3R via Dahrnawala (41.154 km), including a two-lane Link Road from Dahrnawala to Chak 175m (4.859 km) worth Rs8,962 million, rehabilitation and exceptional repair of track maintenance machinery worth Rs5,532.157 million, construction of a road from Main Duki Road to Kharshang via Baghaw and Shinlaiz Sanjavi District
The forum referred several projects to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) for approval, including the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Human Capital Investment Project, KP-HCIP (revised health component), worth Rs24,224.921 million, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rural Investment and Institutional Support Project, worth Rs11,0700 million, PC-I for the construction of the Abdul Khel-Dhakki-Kallurkot Road.
