Qatar’s Foreign Ministry has announced ongoing negotiations in Doha aimed at brokering a ceasefire-for-captives deal between Israel and Hamas, as reported by Al Jazeera.
According to Majed al-Ansari, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, talks are still in progress, indicating a positive development. Al-Ansari emphasized that while there’s no specific timeline for reaching an agreement, the continuation of efforts is a promising sign. He addressed concerns raised by a Reuters report suggesting that the Israeli delegation had left discussions in Doha due to a perceived impasse, stating that no parties have withdrawn from the mediated talks.
Overall, the situation remains fluid, with both optimism and hope maintained for a resolution to the conflict.
