The Chief Executive of the International Cricket Council (ICC), Geoff Allardice, has stated that the Champions Trophy 2025 will be held in Pakistan as planned, dismissing speculation that the event might be shifted to another country.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is set to take place in Pakistan from February to March, however, India’s participation in the competition is uncertain as the BCCI seeks official approval to visit the country.
According to sources, the board has publicly offered Dubai and Sri Lanka as potential hosts for India’s matches. Geoff Allardice rejected the reports, adding that no teams have expressed objections about participating in the tournament.
During a media event in Dubai for the Women’s T20 World Cup, Allardice acknowledged his satisfaction with Pakistan’s hosting of the competition. He also expressed the ICC’s trust in Pakistan’s capabilities to host the Champions Trophy.
