China has delivered two Hualong-1 nuclear power units to Pakistan, which were developed with its homegrown third-generation nuclear power technology.
As of last Thursday, the two million kilowatt Hualong-1 units K-2 and K-3 at the Karachi Nuclear Power Plant became operational, according to China National Nuclear Corporation.
The company claimed to have constructed two nuclear power plants in Pakistan, totaling six nuclear power units.
Since beginning commercial operation, the K-2 and K-3 units have produced approximately 20 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, according to Beijing-based state-run news station CGTN.
At the same time, almost 60,000 locals have received work as a result of the initiative throughout its entire lifecycle.
