Today, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Moin-ul-Haque invited the leading Chinese entrepreneurs to take advantage of the investment-friendly environment. Ambassador Moin-ul-Haque addressed investors through the China-Pakistan Trade and Business Forum which was convening in Nanning for the China-Asean Expo.
The Pakistani ambassador said: “A number of ongoing and planned projects being completed under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) provide tremendous investment opportunities for the Chinese companies.” He further added, that China is the biggest source of FDI for Pakistan and latter’s shift of focus on geo-economics provides a fertile ground for investment. In regards to Pak-China trade, he said, it’s burgeoning is welcomed and with the beginning of phase two of China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement a variety of goods from both countries have made its way into each other’s market.
Sharing sure unique aspects about Pakistan, he said, Pakistan’s geographical place, boom capacity, and conducive guidelines offered via the government make it an attractive destination for overseas investment, mainly for the Chinese organisations. Furthermore, Chinese investment in the agricultural sector can become an important source of food resources to the Chinese market.
Pakistan enjoyed the distinction of being invited as a special partner country to the China-Asean Expo for the second time.
During the first-half of the current fiscal year, Pakistan’s exports to China increased an astounding 88%.
