When Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faez Isa arrived at the Supreme Court on Monday, he was greeted warmly by the staff members.
On Sunday, Justice Qazi Faez Isa was sworn in as the 29th Chief Justice of Pakistan in a ceremony at the President’s House.
CJP Qazi Faez Isa instructed the SC registrar and other judicial officials to assist the public who come to the court for justice.
“People come to the Supreme Court for justice,” the CJP stated. The Islamabad police were supposed to give the newly minted CJP a guard of honor, but he refused.
Previously, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa designated Ms. Jazeela Aslam as the Supreme Court (SC)’s first female Registrar.
Following the retirement of Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Qazi Faez Isa took oath as the 29th Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) on Sunday at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
President Arif Alvi delivered the oath of office to him. The ceremony was attended by caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, high military authorities, caretaker federal ministers, senators, and foreign ambassadors.
Justice Isa will hold the highest judicial position until October 25, 2024.
