Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz Sharif asked the transport department on Thursday to reinstate the Speedo bus service in South Punjab cities.
These directives were delivered by Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz during a meeting of the Punjab Masstransit Authority in Lahore.
During the meeting, the chief minister directed that the Speedo bus service in Bahawalpur and Lodhran, which was started by his father Shehbaz Sharif while he was the chief minister of both cities, be restored.
The modern Metro Bus Service in Lahore, according to CM Hamza Shahbaz, has brought revolutionary improvements to the transportation sector.
The Speedo bus service initiative is presently operational in Lahore and Multan, which is noteworthy.
The Punjab government said in November 2021 that it will start environmentally-friendly electric buses in Lahore, Faisalabad, and Bahawalpur to help residents of those cities.
The decision was made during a meeting of the Punjab Masstransit Authority in Lahore, which was chaired by then-Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
The panel discussed proposals for launching a new transportation system in various cities as well as the orange line metro fare. The group also discussed the plan to introduce double-decker buses in Punjab’s major cities.
