After the new declaration is passed, Parvez Elahi won’t be the chief minister of Punjab, according to interior minister Rana Sanaullah’s statement on Wednesday.
At 4 o’clock, according to Sanaullah, Governor Baligh-ur-Rehman will pass the declaration, at which point Elahi will lose his position as chief minister.
According to the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), the governor of Punjab may also ask the prime minister to impose governor rule.
Responding to a question regarding the latest audio leak of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, the minister said that the audio is a “reality”.
“Videos of Imran Khan are also available and its content is the same as the audio,” Sanaullah.
According to Sanaullah, the governor has asked CM Elahi to hold a vote of confidence in accordance with the constitution, according to a private tv show. He declared that the governor has scheduled a meeting for today’s vote of confidence for 4 p.m.
According to the constitution, the chief minister will not hold office if the vote of confidence is not conducted by 4 p.m. If the resistance continues, then the governor can be asked to impose the governor’s rule. He stated that Hamza Shahbaz is a candidate for the position of CM, but the party will make the final decision.
The interior minister added that the speaker’s decision was useless and that CM Elahi would not receive any relief from the court. He said that the PTI is not dissolving the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly.
