Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz initiated a tree plantation campaign on Friday by planting a sapling in Sheikhupura to commemorate International Women’s Day.
Maryam Nawaz, accompanied by Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, visited Dargai Gul Forest Park in Sheikhupura, where both officials planted saplings to inaugurate the tree planting initiative. Notably, on this Women’s Day, 2000 female students and women achieved a remarkable feat by collectively planting 12,000 saplings.
During a briefing to the Punjab Chief Minister, authorities revealed their ambitious target of planting 0.6 million saplings throughout Punjab on International Women’s Day. Maryam Nawaz actively participated in the initiative, posing for photographs with women, female students, and scouts during her visit. The event highlighted a collective effort to contribute to environmental sustainability and celebrate the role of women in promoting such initiatives.
