In recognition of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir’s significant contributions to fostering bilateral ties between Pakistan and Bahrain, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa conferred the Military Medal Order of Bahrain First Class upon him during his two-day official visit to Bahrain.
According to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Munir engaged in meetings with Bahrain’s top leadership, including King Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Commander of Bahrain Defence Forces Field Marshal Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and Commander of Bahrain National Guard General Shaikh Mohammad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The discussions encompassed various matters of mutual interest, emphasizing bilateral military and security cooperation.
The statement highlighted the appreciation expressed by the Bahraini dignitaries for the achievements of the Pakistan Army in the fight against terrorism and its continued efforts to promote regional peace and stability.
During his visit, COAS General Munir served as the chief guest at the 27th Raising Day of Bahrain National Guard, where he received a warm welcome and a guard of honor. He also had the opportunity to witness a demonstration showcasing counter-terrorism training exercises.
The commander of Bahrain National Guard conveyed his gratitude to the Pakistan Army for providing highly professional training to Bahrain’s National Guard in military and counter-terrorism domains.
The visit further solidified the strong ties between the two nations, emphasizing the collaborative efforts in enhancing security and fostering regional stability.
