A ship carrying the third batch of 70 new cargo coaches for Pakistan Railways under contract from China has reached Karachi port.
The management began unloading the new coaches after a ship carrying cargo coaches arrived at Karachi port, and the 70 cargo coaches will be organized into various freight trains, according to Divisional Superintendent (DS) Railway.
A total of 230 cars will be imported under the agreement with Chinese officials.
Railway Ministry announces reduction in train fares
The DS Railway said in a statement that the addition of more coaches would result in more freight trains and better freight operations.
In the past, locomotives and passenger railway bogies have also been imported from China and America. Additionally, the new freight coaches will be brought to the speed-testing washing line.
