Federal Minister of Internal Affairs Mohsin Naqvi announced that construction of 2 new underpasses is progressing in Islamabad. One in Serena Chowk and the other on Srinagar Highway. Amid increasing population and traffic of the city, infrastructure development is becoming vital. The Minister held a meeting with the officials of the Capital Development Authority (CDA)and the National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK). They gave an account on the projects and their details. National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) officials briefed with the initial designs of the underpasses project in Islamabad.
Mohsin Naqvi directed to speed-up the completion of these projects so single-free corridor could be formed as soon as possible. Furthermore, The Chairman of the CDA and the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad were assigned the task of supervising the construction of the 2 new underpasses, and were instructed to ensure that these are built according to full height specifications. They were instructed to personally oversee the construction process to reduce the building time to minimum.
