Yasmin Rashid, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been released from the Jinnah House attack case.
According to information, the ATC Lahore acquitted the former Punjab minister in the Jinnah House attack case and ordered the former Punjab health minister’s immediate release.
Yasmin appeared before a single bench of the Lahore ATC, presided over by Judge Abher Gul Khan. During the hearing, the police asked the court to prolong the PTI leader’s physical remand.
However, the court denied the police’s request for an extension of physical remand and released Yasmin Rashid from the case.
In the written order, the court stated: “Perusal of record reveals that neither Dr Yasmin Rashid is nominated in the FIR nor involved through supplementary statement and she was summoned in the case on the disclosure of a co-accused which has no evidentiary value in the eye of the court.”
It also stated that no “incriminating material” had been discovered against Rashid and ordered her freedom.
Yasmin Rashid, President of the PTI Central Punjab, was arrested under section three of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).
It is worth noting that the court sentenced the PTI leader to 14 days in jail on judicial remand. She was arrested for a variety of offences, including terrorism.
