The Commonwealth Games 2022 came to a close on Monday night at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, United Kingdom, following a glitzy closing ceremony.
The Games flag was lowered and handed over to Victoria, Australia which will host the next edition of the Commonwealth Games in 2026.
The closing ceremony had kicked off with a performance from Solihull band Ocean Colour Scene. This was followed by a musical performance from the Birmingham-born band Dexys Midnight Runners.
Australia took first place in the medals table for the 11-day Commonwealth Games with 67 Gold, 57 Silver, and 54 Bronze.
With 57 Gold, 66 Silver, and 53 Bronze medals, England comes in second.
In third place with 26 Gold, 32 Silver, and 34 Bronze medals is Canada.
At the Commonwealth Games 2022, Pakistan brought home a total of eight medals, including two gold, three silver, and three bronze.
