On Sunday, Balochistan Chief Secretary Mathar Niaz Rana ordered the desalting of Hanna Lake’s main canal on a priority basis in order to boost canoeing sports.
During his visit to the Hayat Durrani Water Sports Academy (HDWSA), the province’s first and only International Canoeing and Rowing Olympic sports training center in Hanna Lake, he gave this directive.
For the effort to promote the sport Hayatullah Khan Durrani, the founder of HDWSA, thanked the Chief Secretary.
He also addressed the Chief Secretary on the academy’s importance, noting that the Pakistan Canoe and Kayak Federation organizes around 37 annual programs there.
” Under the supervision of qualified coaches National canoe and rowing players are trained here per the International Canoe Federation (ICF) guidelines,” Hayatullah explained.
At the upcoming canoeing sports event, he also invited Mathar Rana to be the chief guest.
Hanna Lake is the first and only International Canoeing and Rowing Center in Pakistan. The lake’s last water sports events took place in December 2021.
