The statement issued by Ayaz Sadiq – Politician of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) distorted the facts that surrounded the release of Indian Wing Commander Abinandhan who was shot in the sky by PAF on February 27, 2019, and caught by Pakistan Army. The remarks of Ayaz Sadiq defamed not only Pakistan’s peace motive but the capability as well. Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG-ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar promptly responded to these statements and said it is “disappointing” and “misleading” if Pakistan’s mature stance of creating peace is given any other term.

DG-ISPR made it crystal clear that the Pilot of IAF was handed over to them after he was defeated and captured in February last year, as per the requirements of Geneva Convention. Confronting the statements of Ayaz Sadiq Maj Gen. Babar Iftikhar said;

“Such a narrative can harm national security at a time when the country is facing a hybrid war,” warned the DG ISPR.

Furthermore, the DG-ISPR cleared the fact that the Pakistan’s Armed Forces is a united force, the institution has no difference between rank and file. Moreover explaining that; “Attempts are being made to create a controversy around Pakistan Army as an institution,” he said.

Lamenting the recent remarks of prominent leaders of PML-N, Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar said that; “There is an anger over attempts being made to target armed forces and creating a controversy around the victory of the country after Pulwama incident,”.

Furthermore rejecting the remarks of Zubair Umar, the former Governor Sindh, he said that the spokesperson of the Armed Forces would never opt to speak ‘half-truth or half lies’. “I have detailed what is truth,” he said.
