ISLAMABAD – The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC), led by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, has granted conditional approval for the export of 100,000 metric tons of sugar. In its meeting, the ECC also extended the sugar export period by 15 days, increasing the deadline from 45 to 60 days.
The committee’s decision aims to facilitate the export of surplus sugar from Pakistan. However, in cases of export to Afghanistan, payments must be made in advance and processed exclusively through banking channels.
Additionally, the ECC approved a technical supplementary grant of 276 million rupees for the Ministry of Interior. It also sanctioned a grant of 1.95 billion rupees for the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan, specifically for the security of the Reko Diq project.
