ECNEC approved 4 highways projects in Punjab projects in Punjab valuing PKR130 billion. This happened at a meeting in Islamabad on Monday.
ECNEC is the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council in Pakistan. Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar said this in a tweet on Monday.
The road infrastructure from Kamalia to Layyah via Shorkot and Chowk Azam is included in 4 highways projects in Punjab.
Other road infrastructures include Hasilpur-Bahawalnagar. A new road from Vehari to Debalpur via Pakpattan is also one of these projects. The last road infrastructure is from Shorkot to Jhang.
The meeting approved the K-4 project based on a new design at a cost of PKR126 billion. He said 26 crore gallons of water will reach Karachi by October next year. He said the federal government has fulfilled yet another promise under Karachi’s Transformation Plan.
The ECNEC also approved a 96 billion rupees project of clean water and sanitation for the rural areas of 16 tehsils of South Punjab.
