The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) met in Islamabad today, with Minister for Finance Miftah Ismail presiding.
The Committee approved the Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway project on a Build Operate Transfer basis, with the revised cost of 308 million rupees.
The project will be executed by the National Highway Authority and envisages the construction of a 306-kilometre-long, 06-lane-wide, divided and fenced highway between Hyderabad and Sukkur.
The ECNEC has approved the construction of a 4-lane Lahore-Sialkot Motorway link highway connecting the Motorway to Narang Mandi and Kartarpur Narowal, including the Narowal Eastern Bypass, for 1,738 million rupees. The project will be completed in three years.
The ECNEC has also approved the project for the construction of a 6-lane Northern section of Ring Road from Warsak Road to Nasir Bagh Road in Peshawar, for 1,649 million rupees. This project will be fully funded and executed
The 8.7 kilometres long project will be completed in three years.
