Pakistan has deeply rooted issues when it comes to the education of individuals, there are mostly people who are deprived of the basic right of education due to scarce resources and underutilized potential.
Although education is not to be equated with one’s English speaking skills, intelligence in fact has no language. However, the dilemma is that in Pakistan English has become the very purpose of gaining the education and the learning processes are left far behind.
The journey of education paves through a child’s mental development. His capabilities, abilities, and spiritual, physical, and mental nourishment. This should be a reason enough for anyone to gain an education. The style of such an education broadens one horizon and thinking capacities which help them to choose their own path and not blindly following the masses.
Pakistan has a problem of 25 million out of school children in total, but the more grave issue is those 17million children who are in school but struggle to read and understand what is being taught to them. They are medically fit but are not guided and taught the right manner that created a frustrating confusion for them in the long run. The only solution is to change curriculums and base them on the concepts of developing a child’s psychology and letting them spread their wings in whatever direction they want to. The resources and guidance from developed countries like Japan etc. can also be garnered and the involvement of child psychologists, sports and activity coordinators, and doctors should be included while devising the curriculum for schools. Not everyone is going to do wonders in life by rote learning tenses, tables, and even sentences just to pass a class or ace a subject. Education is beyond that and it is high time that it is treated as such.
