Due to an increase in the number of coronavirus infections, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to close all educational institutions in eight districts.
The schools and universities in Peshawar, Swabi, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Malakand, Swat, Haripur, and D.I. Khan will be suspended from September 4 to 11.
Shahram Khan Tarakai, the province Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education, announced the decision in a tweet, writing, “With the persistent condition of covid-19 over the nation, NCOC decided to close schools in regions where covid is on a constant increase.”
The Punjab government has also placed restrictions in 15 districts, as well as closing schools across the state for a week, in response to an alarming increase in the number of COVID-19 cases.
The Islamabad District Administration has also declared that all government and private academic facilities in the capital city will be closed from September 6 to September 11.
