Israel has stated a willingness to extend the truce by an additional day for every 10 hostages freed, releasing three times the number of Palestinians each time, up to a cap of five additional days.
A Palestinian official involved in the talks noted a positive attitude from both sides but emphasized that a final decision has not yet been reached.
