At the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, from July 28 to August 8, Pakistan participated. Pakistan had participated in 14 Commonwealth Games.

The nation’s flag bearers for the 2022 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony were Muhammad Inam and Bismah Maroof.

Since the 1970 British Commonwealth Games, Pakistan’s medal total at the CWG is at its highest. Pakistan placed 18th overall out of the competing 72 countries in the medal standings.

Nooh Dastgir Butt

Weightlifter Muhammad Nooh Dastgir Butt is from Gujranwala, Pakistan, and he won a gold medal.

In the 2022 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship, he took home the gold medal.

Nooh Dastagir competed in Men’s 109+ kg. Nooh was sensational as he set a record in Commonwealth Games in his category, lifting 170 Kg in his first snatch.

Arshad Nadeem

Arshad Nadeem is a Pakistani athlete specializing in javelin throw. He qualified directly for the 2020 Summer Olympics after setting a new South Asian Games record in the javelin throw in December 2019 with a distance of 86.29 m.

He was the first Pakistani to qualify for the final of any track and field event at the Olympic Games and the first track and field athlete in the nation to do so. In 2022, he also became the first ever Pakistani to qualify for the final of any event at the World Athletics Championships.

Muhammad Inam

Professional wrestler from Pakistan named Muhammad Inam Butt. At the 2010 Commonwealth Games, he won the nation’s second gold medal.

He also took home bronze at the 2014 Asian Beach Games, gold at the 2016 South Asian Games, gold at the 2016 Asian Beach Games, silver at the 2016 Commonwealth Wrestling Championship, gold at the 2017 World Beach Wrestling Championships, and silver at the 2017 Commonwealth Wrestling Championship.

Butt won gold medals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, the 2018 World Beach Wrestling Championships, the 2019 South Asian Games, the 2019 ANOC World Beach Games, the 2021 World Beach Series, the 2021 World Beach Games, and the 2021 World Beach Wrestling Series. She also won silver at the 2019 World Beach Series and bronze at the 2021 Asian Olympics Qualify Rounds.

Zaman Anwar

Professional wrestler from Pakistan named Zaman Anwar. He captured a gold medal in the South Asian Games in 2016 and a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in 2022. At the 2014 Commonwealth Games, he took part.

Zaman Anwar of Pakistan won the silver medal in the Men’s Freestyle 125 kg final, earning him the third medal. After a fierce bout, he was defeated by Amarveer Dhesi of Canada by a score of 2-9.

Sharif Tahir

Muhammad Sharif Tahir is a Pakistani wrestler who was born on June 12, 2002.

He competed in the wrestling competition at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and won the silver medal in the men’s freestyle 74 kg category.

He competed in the finals against Naveen Malik, who won the gold medal, and lost 9-0.

Shah Hussain Shah

Pakistan’s first medal came from judoka Shah Hussain Shah who bagged the Bronze medal earlier this week.

He outperformed his South African opponent in the 90kg category – his first ever 90kg event as he always played in the 100kg category.

Inayat Ullah

Inayatullah defeated Ross Connelly of Scotland to win the bronze medal for his nation in the Men’s Free Style 65 kg Wrestling competition.

After three minutes and 59 seconds, he claimed victory via technical superiority.

Ali Asad

Ali Asad is a Pakistani professional wrestler. He won a bronze medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games
