Manchester City star Erling Haaland recently achieved a significant milestone, scoring his 100th goal for the club during a 2-2 draw with Arsenal. This feat places the 24-year-old Norwegian alongside football legend Cristiano Ronaldo as the fastest player to score 100 goals for a European club.
Haaland reached this milestone in just 105 appearances for Manchester City, matching Ronaldo’s record set in 2011 while playing for Real Madrid. Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, achieved the same in 105 matches for the Spanish giants.
Earlier this year, Kevin De Bruyne became the 18th Manchester City player to reach 100 goals, doing so in his 372nd game.
Haaland’s goal-scoring prowess has made him one of the most prolific forwards in European football. He had already set a record for most goals in the first four games of the Premier League season, netting nine goals, including two hat-tricks.
Despite entering the Champions League match against Inter Milan with 99 goals in 103 appearances, Haaland was unable to break Ronaldo’s record, as the game ended in a goalless draw despite a few chances in the first half.
