A shopkeeper was murdered and seven others were hurt by an explosion that occurred in a small market on Saturday in the Balochistani district of Awaran.
According to reports, a hidden improvised explosive device in a store burst and killed the store owner, Nasir Ali. The injured included both a woman and a child. The injured were sent to a nearby DHQ for medical attention. Security personnel surrounded the location and launched an attack investigation.
Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, the chief minister of Balochistan, expressed sorrow over the event. Innocent shoppers were targeted in the attack, the chief minister continued, and said they will be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
An outlawed extremist group has taken credit for the assault. On November 30, a strong blast in Quetta’s Baleli neighbourhood on Wednesday targeted a police patrol and resulted in at least four deaths, including a policeman, a mother, and her son, as well as more than two dozen wounded.
