Exports in the country have climbed by 8% in the latest month (June), despite a 40% fall on an annual basis, while imports have decreased by 47% and the trade deficit has decreased by 63%.
According to statistics, the country’s exports increased by 8% during the month of June, but domestic exports decreased by 19% year on year.
Domestic exports totaled $2.37 billion in June 2023.
Imports were down 47%. Pakistan’s imports totaled $4.18 billion in June. According to statistics, the country’s trade deficit in June was $1.81 billion, a 15% decline from the previous month, and a 63% decrease from the previous year.
Pakistan removed import restrictions in March 2023, following a two-year low current account deficit of $78 million in February 2023 as a result of import control measures.
