Facebook aims to buy renewable energy from India

Facebook signed a deal to purchase renewable energy from India from a local wind power project of a form; however, it is also among the giants as well as the first social media deal in a South Asian nation.

According to the official report, the wind power project of 32 megawatt in southern Karnataka that is a part of their larger portfolio of this wind as well as the solar projects is soon going to be implemented. It is a Facebook and the Mumbai-based CleanMax that are collaborating on the supply of renewable energy through the electrical grids of India.

Urvi Parekh, the Head of renewable energy of Facebook also told Reuters that the Company typically does not own any of the power plants; however, signs like long-term electricity agreements of purchasing of renewable power is set by the company.
