ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has teamed up with the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) to organize the Pakistan Mathematics Olympiad (PMO).
As part of this collaboration, LUMS has developed a detailed syllabus specifically for the PMO, along with a model question paper to assist students in their preparation. This initiative aims to provide students with a clear understanding of the competition’s format and level of difficulty.
The Olympiad is open to students from all educational streams in Pakistan, including those enrolled in Secondary School Certificate (SSC), O level, Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC), A Level, and equivalent qualifications. This inclusive approach ensures that students from diverse academic backgrounds can participate and demonstrate their mathematical skills on a national stage.
To promote excellence in mathematics, the PMO will offer a range of prestigious prizes, including cash awards, medals, laptops, and scholarships for admission to leading universities in Pakistan. These incentives aim to inspire a new generation of critical thinkers and problem-solvers, fostering a culture of academic excellence.
Registration for the Pakistan Mathematics Olympiad will begin in mid-September 2024, exclusively on the FBISE website. Students are encouraged to register early to seize this opportunity and gain national recognition for their mathematical abilities.
For more details on the registration process and competition guidelines, interested participants can visit the official FBISE website.
