On Monday, 117 Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employees had their accounts frozen and were being investigated by the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Crime Circle for having fake degrees.
According to sources, the agency was able to recoup Rs 90 million by freezing the accused’s accounts who possessed fake degrees. The PIA staff members have been accused of falsifying records and fraud. In addition, it has drafted a challan for the abovementioned personnel.
The investigative report against them will soon be presented in court by the FIA. The PIA used people with bogus degrees for assistant and supervisor positions.
According to the sources, the top recruitment board officials are involved in hiring people with bogus degrees. Last year, the FIA filed a case against at least 113 PIA employees, including 18 women, for allegedly having fake degrees.
