In a large shopping and entertainment complex in a northern Moscow suburb, an overnight fire broke out around the size of a football field that claimed one life on Friday. Firefighters are putting out a 7,000 square metre (75,300 square foot) fire in the Moscow region, according to a Telegram post from Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations. According to the reports, one person died due to a fire in the Shopping Centre at Moscow.
Later, Russian media reported that one person had perished in the fire at the Mega Khimki Shopping Centre at Moscow, which is located about four miles (seven kilometers) from Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow. Emergency services reported that more than 70 firefighters and 20 fire trucks were on the scene, and that their work was complicated by the structure of the building.
