The “first-ever” Pink Peoples Bus Service in the nation was introduced by the Sindh government on Wednesday in Karachi. This service is only for female passengers.
Sharjeel Inam Memon, the transport minister for Sindh, introduced the pink bus service.
After the ceremony, Memon spoke with the media and said that the pink bus service would travel from Model Colony Malir to Tower through Shahrah-e-Faisal.
He added that buses would run every 20 minutes in the morning and evening during working hours. The buses would run every hour for the remainder of the day, he said.
According to Sharjeel Memon, initially, four pink buses will start operating on the city’s inaugural route. The start of a pink taxi service for ladies in Karachi was previously announced by Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.
“The government has decided to launch tax services in Karachi under Sindh Mass Transit Authority,” he said, adding that pink tax service for women will be launched in the first phase.
