The first ever National Security Policy of Pakistan will be launched this coming Friday by Prime Minister Pakistan Imran Khan.
According to some official sources:
“The original version of the security policy will remain classified, but a public version of the Security Policy will be released.”
This security policy is said to provide overall direction for the national security of Pakistan. Increasing the country’s national resource pie will be the main focus so that Pakistan’s traditional and non-traditional security can be strengthened.
Moreover, The official sources also revealed that:
“The national security policy is a comprehensive document prepared with input from relevant federal departments, provincial governments and experts. The policy gives guidelines for economic, military and human security. It also dilates upon hybrid warfare, internal security and foreign policy. In foreign policy, peace and economic diplomacy will be focused. Human security consists of population, health security, climate and water, food security and gender mainstreaming.”
The official sources further revealed that:
“An implementation framework has been prepared to ensure the execution of the policy. And the policy will be reviewed every year. And every new government may also review it.”
Previously, this policy was presented in the federal cabinet, which was approved with consensus. Along with the security policy, many other projects was also approved.
