Security forces conducted an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan district, resulting in the elimination of five terrorists, as announced by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement on Saturday.
The operation was launched based on intelligence indicating the presence of terrorists in Mir Ali. Among the terrorists killed was Commander Rahzeb, also known as Khoray, according to the ISPR. The statement highlighted that these terrorists were actively involved in various activities against security forces, including extortion and target killings of innocent civilians.
The ISPR reported the recovery of weapons and ammunition during the operation. Emphasizing the commitment to eradicating terrorism, the military’s media wing mentioned that a sanitization operation is underway to eliminate any other terrorists in the area.
During a gathering on Thursday, participants reiterated the Pakistan Army’s determination to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against direct and indirect threats.
The briefing covered the prevailing geostrategic environment, challenges to national security, and the armed forces’ strategy in response to evolving threats.
Serious concerns were raised about sanctuaries and the freedom of action available to proscribed groups like the TTP in a neighboring country, along with the availability of advanced weapons to terrorists.
Officers affirmed their resolve to confront all terrorists, facilitators, and abettors operating at the behest of hostile forces aiming to destabilize Pakistan, vowing to address them with the full strength of the state.
