Finance Minister Ishaq Dar vowed on Saturday to help steer the country out of its current predicament.
While speaking to a delegation, a federal minister honestly remarked that political instability in Pakistan causes challenges. “We are working hard to keep our promises,” he stated. “All problems could not be addressed in a single day, the country faces so many challenges,” he added.
“The national economy has been struggling, but there is hope for improvement,” Ishaq Dar stated.
He remarked that people who give default dates should be humiliated, pointing to some economic analysts. “Some zealots want to see Pakistan default, but the country will never default,” declared the finance minister.
He said that Pakistan is a solvent country with trillions of dollars in assets. He stated that our external liabilities are approximately one hundred billion dollars, while our single asset, gas infrastructure, is approximately forty to forty-five billion dollars. “There is no need to be concerned.”
“We are trying to oblige foreign repayments on time and are taking steps for long-term economic improvement of the country,” he continued.
