The match football for the men’s UEFA Champions League final on Saturday (May 28) between six-time champions Liverpool and record 13-time champions Real Madrid was proudly “Made in Pakistan”.
It should be mentioned that footballs manufactured in Sialkot, Pakistan, have previously been used in FIFA World Cups and UEFA club championships.
Pakistani footballs will be used in this year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
After Russia invaded Ukraine, the ball was also used to display a message of peace in trying to bring the globe together.
The ball was “Made in Pakistan” for Adidas which described it as “a simple message of peace, belonging, and optimism that will be shared from player to player with every kick.”
The ball’s overall design, provided by official supplier Adidas, was remarkably clean and simple, with pure white panels symbolizing peace and harmony.
Pakistan delivered 38 million balls for $154 million ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, despite their FIFA rating of 198. For all the FIFA events and UEFA Champions Leagues, the footballs are “Made in Pakistan”.
