Foreign delegates from 17 countries, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and China, are set to attend Pakistan’s largest IT festival next week, as reported by Radio Pakistan. The event, ITCN Asia, organized by Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. will take place from August 27 to 29 in Karachi, the country’s financial hub.
This marks the 25th edition of the festival, aimed at uniting Pakistan’s tech and startup ecosystem. The three-day event will feature over 750 global and local companies, with more than 70,000 attendees, including 350 foreign delegates from countries such as Saudi Arabia, China, Singapore, and the UAE. The event is projected to attract investments worth over $500 million.
Pakistan is keen to increase IT exports and foreign investment to ease its economic dependence on external debts. The country has set a target to boost IT exports to $25 billion, according to State Minister for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima.
Pakistan has also established four new Special Technology Zones, capable of housing 50,000 professionals with an annual export potential of $350 million, as announced by the Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA).
